I fully support the building of a community Swimming pool in Bandon, Oregon. The positive effects of having this facility will benefit all age, gender, and social groups in Bandon and surrounding communities. The pool also addresses major issues for the community—health and safety. Drowning is the 2nd leading cause of accidental death in children under twelve. And even more tragically one-third of all Americans do not know how to swim. It’s heartening to know that swimming lessons will be a primary offering at the pool. Additionally, swimming addresses a multitude of health issues including arthritis, bone strength, flexibility, mobility, pain reduction, heart disease, and diabetes. Please add me as an enthusiastic supporter of the Bandon Community Swimming Pool.
